OPPORTUNITIES FOR VOLUNTEER WORK
 You
can take part in our social projects, working as a
volunteer in any of them. Please note the below
requirements of ICAmigos.
Requirements For
Volunteer Work
Minimum commitment of three weeks (four or five
hours per day, Monday through Friday), except in
the Reforestation Project, which has a minimum
commitment of one week

lifestyle and daily routine of the various
communities where projects take place.
Accommodations for
Volunteers
Volunteers can choose from
the following two options:
- To live with a Guatemalan family assigned
by ICAmigos, which offers a private bedroom,
three meals per day, hot showers and a
pleasant family atmosphere, at a cost of Q240
($30) per week (7 days). All of the families
live very close to ICA and some live near
certain projects. Families are not responsible
for providing laundry service.
- To live in one of the two rooms which
ICAmigos has available for volunteers. These
are small bedrooms with a comfortable bed and
a small dresser for storing personal items.
There is also an equipped kitchen for
preparing meals, a hot shower (hot water
available every day), and a laundry sink for
washing clothes. The cost is only Q100 per
month, which is used to cover electricity and
water use.
 It
is important to choose one of these options at
the time you fill out the application form, so
that we can make arrangements for you prior to
your arrival.
If you prefer, you can
arrange private accommodations. There are a
number of economical guest houses and family
homes renting rooms for visitors, including
kitchen privileges. Many of these options cost
between
Q30 and Q60 per night.
